A Saturday afternoon at the historic Stockholm Stadium â and perhaps the beginning of a turnaround!
A pleasant visit to the historic Stockholm Stadium ended with an incredibly important 1-0 victory for FC RosengÄrd. The goal was scored by Thea Sörbo with a fantastic shot into the goalkeeper's right cross.
But before I tell you more about the match, I want to stop for a moment and share some of my own memories from the fantastic venue on VallhallavÀgen.
I was there and watched the European Athletics Championships in 1958 â yes, I am that old!
On a lovely summer evening in 1987, I also stood at the Stadium and watched Patrik Sjöberg jump 2.42 and set a new world record in the high jump. You never forget a moment like that.
And so in 2024, I, together with our fantastic team and management team, got to be part of another great Stadium memory. Then we got to lift the Princess Victoria's Cup and celebrate a Swedish Championship gold medal after the incredible season that FC RosengÄrd had.
Many years, many memories â and many emotions.

Back to Saturday's match against DjurgÄrden. You may remember that we ended the spring season by defeating DjurgÄrden 4-1 at Malmö IP.
I often come back to the fact that FC RosengÄrd has a team that does not belong at the bottom of the league. Maybe I am not critical enough sometimes, but I really believe in this team and that together we can sort out our tough situation.
Against DjurgÄrden we had problems during the first quarter, not least with the unfamiliarity of playing on a grass pitch. But we worked our way into the match and gradually the feeling grew in me that we could secure a win and three points that we so badly needed.
In the second half we were still the better team. And this time we also had that small margin on our side that we have lacked in many matches.
FINALLY!
I usually say that luck and bad luck even out during a long league game. DjurgÄrden certainly had a clear chance from half-court and RosengÄrd certainly managed to save a ball on the goal line.
But this time the ball finally rolled RosengÄrd's way.
When the final whistle blew, there was great joy.
The atmosphere in the locker room after the match was fantastic and those of us who were there were able to leave Stockholm with a wonderful feeling:
IT'S NOW COME BACK!
But we also know that one cold spell doesn't make a summer. Now it's time to recharge and continue to do the job.
Uppsala will visit on Saturday.
We played 1-1 away, so it will take the same fighting spirit and the same will if we are to take another three points.
